Do you want to be our next Forum chair?

Population Research UK (PRUK) is an initiative dedicated to unlocking the potential of the UK’s longitudinal population studies (LPS) across social, economic, and biomedical research. PRUK is led by a multidisciplinary team of experts driving innovation in longitudinal research. We are inviting you to join the team for 12 months as one of our Forum chairs.

The Forum is both the community of LPS stakeholders PRUK is seeking to serve – including researchers, evidence users, study management teams, and existing platforms and infrastructures – and the activities, events and interactions with that community that PRUK will facilitate to achieve its strategic goals.

Forum chairs are part of the PRUK Hub Leadership Group (HLG). They bring sector-specific expertise, ensuring the Forum benefits from diverse networks and perspectives as it evolves. In their role, the chairs will lead community engagement efforts, act as PRUK ambassadors, and ensure that stakeholder voices are effectively integrated into PRUK’s decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities of the Forum chairs include:

  • leading PRUK’s community interactions, including in workshops and consultations
  • identifying and raising community needs, challenges, and insights
  • acting as PRUK ambassadors and expanding the PRUK community
  • disseminating relevant information
  • ensuring that the community’s voice is integrated into PRUK’s decision-making processes, and shaping PRUK’s strategic direction through membership of the HLG

The two Forum chairs represent both the social and biomedical sciences, and operate on a rotating basis with this role being for 12 months. The two inaugural Forum chairs were Paul Bradshaw and Rosie McEachan. This is an open call to recruit one Forum chair to represent the biomedical community.
